Soo yeah. Tuesday nights are not my favorite. I have work all day long then I have to drive an hour to get to school for grad school followed by driving an hour back home.....with getting me home around 11pm. So that means I leave the house at 7am and get home at 11pm. That makes for one VERY long day. Especially when I'm in a research class...with a teacher that can't teach. She a nice woman, but she just can't explain anything. Sorry for my bitch session here. I am just soo stressed out with work and school. But on a nice note...a girl I go to school with bought Norah this cute little onesie...it was adorable and purple with little flowers and it looked like overalls but it was just a simple onesie....cute & functional! Perfect! I'll have to post a pic soon.
Today I get to go to my Ultrasound!! Yay!! Luckily since my pregnancy is kinda considered high risk (my mom had some difficulties delivering), I get a lot of ultrasounds....so this is will be like my 5th one!! WHOOP!! I love seeing Norah!! It makes me feel so happy knowing that she is healthy and well!! I can't wait to see her today. Hopefully she will be more active so they can get all her measurements! I'm also going to ask for a couple good pictures for me to send to Cody in Iraq. I know he would like them! Well, I gotta get going to this doc. appt. Maybe I'll have pictures when I get back!!

Morning Walk
This morning's walk was soo nice. The birds were chirping and the trees are blooming. One of the roads I walk down has multiple trees in a row that are just blooming. I LOVE the colors in the spring!! Just sayin'...
oh Afternoons, how I miss my bed
Ohhh wow, just sitting here at work. So much to do, so little time. Yet, 22 weeks pregnant and all I want to do is close my eyes and go to sleep. Afternoons are ROUGH....it's damn near impossible to keep my eyes open!! WANT TO SLEEP!!!! Now back to documentation....cause that won't put you to sleep :)

Relaxing Sundy
Today was a nice day. I woke up took Vegabear out to go to the bathroom. Watched a couple shows on DVR. Then took a long nice shower. It was great to have time to just enjoy it. Then Cody & I had made plans to skype at 11am my time...so I waited for his call. 11am came and went without word. Normally I wouldn't think twice about it but we had actually set a time (we usually don't pick an actual time down to the min) and he had emailed me earlier in his day (my night) telling me how much he missed me and couldn't wait to skype with me. So when I didn't hear from him, I got really worried. But luckily he called about 3 hours later and all was good. He just got busy with work. It did freak me out a bit. Typically we just kinda go with the flow...maybe it was just some pregnancy hormones freaking out or who knows. But I was happy that he was ok and safe! That's all that matters to me. At first our skype session was one peeved preggers wife wondering why he couldn't text me to let me know he was alive. But like usual, Cody has a way to make me laugh and get over it. So we had a good time skyping and joking. He had this stupid putty he couldn't stop playing with...he made it into a mustache, then I had him make it into a uni-brow. Then I was joking and told him that he needs to put a cool back drop in the background while we skype. I told him he should have a hand drawn two-hump camel next time. He then took out a sharpie (where he got it who knows...it looked like it was pulled right out the pooper haha)....and he drew me a two-humped camel on the locker behind him. It cracked me up. I love the camel. Now every time we skype I'm gonna see the camel he drew me. It's funny how the most stupid things make me happy while he's deployed. He then asked to see my preggers belly. My dad held up the webcam while I showed my belly. He was really in awe and was so excited. He said he could really tell. He said he missed me and wished soo bad that he could be here with me. Sometimes it's soo hard. But thank goodness for skype. At least he can still see things...can't touch or smell but he can see and hear. So we have to thank our blessings.
So what else I did today. I bought some makeup...made by Carmindy from What Not To Wear...I know..lame, but I wanted to try to airbrush foundation. And I love it!! Then I took Vega to Care-A-Lot. She got a lot of attention there and had fun. I got her two new toys, some more treats and a bone. She's a happy pup. Then my parents and I went to see the movie "Paul". It was funny. More of a DVD rental. But it made us laugh. After that we went to Vancostas Restaurant for dinner. I had a greek salad. It was goood. I dug it! And now I'm back here. Ready for Army Wives to come on in 5 mins. and Coming home to come on in one hour and 5 mins :) Anyways....and that's my day.

First New Post in FOREVER
So....yeah. It's been 9 months since I posted last. Crazy how time just flies by!! So Cody got home soon after my last post. We searched around for our perfect puppy and landed on our very own golden doodle puppy. The breeder was awesome and let us come to the house every weekend from the time our puppy was 2 weeks old until 12 weeks old. We named her "Vega" after our favorite star that we discovered during our honeymoon in Hawaii. After having Vega in our lives and training her and loving every min. of her we started talking about having a baby. Cody felt that the puppy gave us good experience working together for the best interest of another and we had pretty much done a great job with her. So we decided to start trying to expand our family. Then we went to Staunten/Charlottesville area for our wedding anniversary. It was absolutely amazing. Cody reserved the most beautiful deluxe bed & breakfast with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace in our room. We even bought bubble bathe to make life fun....(I don't recommend dumping a whole bottle into the tub and sitting in there for over an hour...your skin feels like it will itch off, prob. not safe lol). We had a good time going to the wineries and a Shakespeare play and took a drive down skyline drive. The little town even had a little festival called "Chocolate & Sparkle". For Thanksgiving we went to visit Cody's family in Arkansas. It was on Thanksgiving that we discovered that we are having a little BABY!!! I found out I was preggers!! We were sooo excited. We came home and told the news to my family and they were soooo EXCITED! Of course soon after we found out we were pregnant we were hit with the news that Cody is deploying again. He had just got back from Iraq that's why we thought that the timing was good. I guess it goes to show again...never try to plan your life if you're in the military. So devastating news is that Cody will not be here when our baby girl is born. He will be deployed until our first baby is about 4-5 months old. Tough stuff. So once again....I guess this blog will be showing the good/bad/ugly of this deployment. I always want to blog about the great things that happen between Cody & I when he is home...but we get soo wrapped up in spending time together and enjoying the time we have that I lose touch with everyone and everything since he's always coming & going.
So I'm 5 months pregnant with our little girl and Cody has been gone now for a week and a half. Today was challenging day number one. GROCERY shopping. Now the actual shopping part is not hard at all...hell I get to buy all the stuff I like :) The hard part is being pregnant and trying to bring $250 worth of groceries into the house while the dog is jumping on you. Turns out when you have your hands full....Vega has a way to get out the door. So there I was with both hands tied up and the dog runs out into the road. So I had to wrangle her in like a freakin' bull gone wild. So yeah...then putting up the groceries....it was a task man! Whew! Thank goodness that is over. At least now the house has some food!! Yippie!! Now to make dinner. Man I miss Cody. He's the heavy lifter AND he makes dinner. Although, good part of the day is that the weather was kick ass and I took Vega for a 4 mile hike on a trail near our neighborhood. We had a good time! Plus I got to skype with Cody. Our little webcam is filling up with family members...usually it's just me & cody in the video....now it's me, cody and vega....and soon it will be me, cody, vega and norah (our baby). Anyways, I'm starved. This was a very condensed version of the last 9 months. now time for food!

last 4 weeks...getting hard
So I don't really know what is going on. Cody and I only have 4 weeks left of the deployment. And up until a couple weeks ago I was surprised on how well we have done on this deployment. I'm so in love with my husband and he is the most wonderful man in the world. But these last two weeks have been hard. And it's nothing big. But it's strange, cause it's the little things that matter when you've been separated from your spouse for a half of a year. For instance, for the past 6 months (even longer) we have been soooo excited about getting a puppy together. We've googled different breeds and looked up training and health and personality of dogs. We've even spent hours and hours picking the perfect puppy name....our little Vega. We decided that because one of the best nights of our honeymoon in Hawaii was on top of Mauna Kea laying in a blankets sipping on hot chocolate eating crappy ramen noodles looking at the stars. Our favorite star....Vega....it was soo pretty and sparkly....it was such a wonderful night. So our little puppy will be named Vega. Cody has sent me cards with pictures of puppy and we've priced around. He's told me how much he can't wait to train it with me and get puppy books and take him on walks and camping and to the beach.............and tonight he's like..."have you thought about getting a cat instead?" .....WHAT???!! A cat? Are you kidding me?? At first I thought he was kidding and I was joking with him but then he kept saying that they are easier and we don't have to worry about training him and blah blah blah.....And maybe I'm being a little stupid, but to me this crushed me. I mean partly cause I've always been more a dog person than a cat person (my cat growing up was soo mean and my dog was a sweetie) and Cody and I are dog people....so where would this cat stuff come from. And i know that him being deployed just magnifies it....cause I feel like we're changing....not in a huge it's going to change the pathway to our life kinda way but we're changing and I don't understand why he's changing into a different person. He used to send me texts all the time and now he just keeps saying that talking isn't as satisfying anymore and just wants to be with me. And I know what he means in a way cause we're soo sick of saying the same things and we just want to be together.....I mean he's working everyday doing the same thing over and over again and I"m working and going to school so I"m doing the same thing over and over again. We're both stressed out and tired and exhausted and just ready to be back together. Cody and I are strong. But we're just tired. And for some reason, the small things are getting to me. I mean Cody is sooo sweet to me and tries so hard. But like I said it's the small things. Like we were talking about how tired we were so Cody asks if we can skype for a few mins before I go to bed....and I was like sure it would be great to laugh with you again! And so we get on and we're having fun and then he asks where all MY money is going and what i"m spending it on (we haven't opened a joint account bc he deployed soon after we married so we technically have 2 accounts and I work and we both pay the bills). Hello BUZZ kill on the convo....I mean I have no problem answering the question but we only had about 10 mins to talk before I wanted to head to bed.....so I didn't want to waste it on a boring and annoying question.....why would he bring up something that boring. I mean wait till the next day....I mean and the thing is we aren't having any financial problems or anything. We're doing really well....so it's not like a question that was burning and we needed to discuss....just pointless. and then he brings up the Cat. What the fuck? A cat? Sorry to all you cat ppl out there....it's not really about the cat. It's about the fact that we've been planning on having soo much fun picking out our little puppy together and sometimes it's the small things that keeps you going on a deployment and to just change it up 4 weeks before you come home just crushed me. Ohh and he's planning this snow skiing trip for January and if you know my husband you know that he becomes a different person when he snow skis....he thinks he's going to be an Olympian snow skier....so he's talking about doing a bootcamp to get ready for our snow ski vacay.....Well I'm sorry that doesn't sound exciting to me at all.....not bootcamp. We used to talk about picking out a puppy and and going to a trip out to the mountains to go hiking and trailing with our puppy and wrapping up in blankets and spooning and kissing and being romantic and fun..............and now he wants bootcamp and a cat. What the F?? sorry I just need to vent. I"m so tired and exhausted. I don't have fun talking to him on the phone now....we have different images of what to do when he comes home. We will have some transitioning to do after a deployment. And I have to admit....we are a really strong couple and we love each other so much and I know that it's going to be heaven when he gets home and I actually think it will be easier when he is home. I think the separation is just killing us both. I'm just ready for him to be home. I'm tired of this stupid deployment.
