Day 1

So...I just finished the Julie&Julia movie. Julia blogged for 365 the recipes by Julia Child. I'm not sure that is such a great idea for me haha...me in the kitchen cooking that often can only lead to disaster. I can also say that blogging everyday is probably not possible....wondering why? Probably cause I have a million things going on...including:

1. Planning my wedding for November 7, 2009 to my best friend. I know that sounds halmark-y...but it's true. I love him with all my heart and he always makes me laugh. I can't wait to be his wife.
2. Planning my honeymoon for November 8, 2009. Ok we know that normally the husband plans the honeymoon...but my soon to be husband's family does not have a lot of money and so we will be paying for it ourselves. My soon to be husband was supposed to take the lead but due to his amazing procrastination skills and obsession with new hobbies (snow skiing, knife making, mountain biking, golf....it's never ending)....I decided to take on the task. And to be truthful I enjoy planning vacations because then I know that we have fun adventures to look forward to.
3. Completing my second year of graduate school for social work. I'm on year two of four years to complete it. It feels like it is never going to end. Endless amounts of work and papers. I am counting down the years for this one to be done.
4. Learning a new job. Due to budget cuts within the city....my prevention job was eliminated and I was transferred over to social services. I love my coworkers and supervisor but learning a whole new job is a lot of work. Especially doing my line of work (CPS). It's hard for me because I know that I do everything ethically and from the heart. I do what I can for the families I work with but sometimes they don't see that due to the stigma that comes along with the title. I do social work because I love working with people and seeing the strengths in every family and helping them overcome their weaknesses. I also work with the homeless population which is very difficult due to the fact that the country is in a recession and their is no funds, resources and housing opportunities for this population. This makes it difficult for me to assist them if I have no tools to assist them with. But I manage.
5. My brother's best friend in the whole world was killed in Afganhistan. This created a hole and gap in his heart, my mom and dad's heart and my own. We are still overcoming this loss and mending out lives back together. I know the years to come will be very difficult for my brother and I hope I can be there for him.

Yeah....so lots of stuff going on and I would love to just photograph people and their families and get a puppy to build a family. On more realistic terms I just can't wait until my wedding and honeymoon. It's going to be so much fun!!! YAY!!
